Trapshooting
Trapshooting is a sport of concentration and perseverance. When used to it, it is about 20% physical and 80% mental. While competing, sometimes the mental takes over and that means that we start doubting ourselves and then...misses may occur. The important part is to control the mind.
Shooting Trap : we have singles, handicap and doubles. A squad consists of a team of 5 people shooting 5 shots from 5 different positions. A round consists of 25 shots. In a competition, we shoot 100 or 200 targets as per the discipline. We usually shoot a 12 ga shotgun. The clay targets are small round plates made out of clay...in an orange color, They come out from a trap in the ground and travel at a speed of 42 miles per hour and we have no idea of the angles before they come out.
Shooting Skeet : There is also American Skeet and Olympic Skeet...it is shot from 8 different positions but the targets always come out from the same places...sometimes singles and sometimes doubles...a round consists of 25 shots. It is good practice for hunting and for competitions.
Sporting Clay : this is more like hunting. It is shot in the woods to imitate real game and in many different positions...rabbits, ducks...etc...
